My story

You may know my name already and what superpower I have, but who is really behind the lens?

I have always loved taking photographs

However if I had told my younger self that I would be pursuing a career in photography, I would have been shocked. At that time I was studying psychology, dreaming of travelling and wanting to save the world by helping people be happy. Ironically, this is what happened. My job is to bring love and joy to people, by capturing their story and creating beautiful, heartfelt memories and heirlooms to admire for generations to come.

What an awesome way to save the world!

Although I may not have set out to be a photographer, I always had a love and passion for photography from a young age. I took my passion further, studying photography in more depth and purchasing my first SLR camera. I not only captured images, I learnt to develop negatives in a dark room, finding new ways to be inventive with equipment and techniques. I instantly discovered that photographing people was my talent, taking inspiration from some fantastic photographers; namely Tono Stano, Ruth Bernhard and Andy Warhol.

‘Our wedding’ photography

Is what inspired me to pursue a career in photography. The photographs did not capture the true essence of our day, which is the sole purpose of my photography. I love vibrant colours and monotone images, therefore I incorporate both in my work. I get creative with my surroundings, the individuals and pay close attention to details, whilst allowing people to be themselves. For me, capturing natural beauty and real emotions is what creates a powerful, memorable image.

With every person I meet and every story I tell, I feel truly blessed that this is what I call my career.
